Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)

At Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL), sustainability is integral to our business strategy. Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework guides the integration of responsible business practices into our strategy, operations, and decision-making, ensuring that we deliver sustainable outcomes for our clients, employees, shareholders, business partners, regulators, and the communities we serve.

As one of the Caribbean's leading providers of security, risk management, and integrated support services, we recognize that long-term success depends on more than operational excellence. It requires responsible environmental stewardship, respect for human rights, investment in our people, ethical leadership, strong governance, and meaningful engagement with our stakeholders.

Our ESG framework enables us to identify, manage, and continually improve the environmental, social, and governance impacts of our operations while supporting sustainable growth, building organizational resilience, and strengthening trust across all areas of our business.

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is the framework through which we manage and communicate our responsible business performance and our commitment to creating long-term sustainable value.

ESG integrates environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sound governance into the way we operate, make decisions, manage risk, and deliver services. It enables us to assess and improve the impacts of our operations while strengthening resilience, enhancing stakeholder trust, and supporting sustainable business growth.

Our ESG framework is built around three interconnected pillars:

Environmental

We are committed to protecting the environment by minimizing the environmental impacts of our operations, improving resource efficiency, reducing waste, supporting responsible procurement, reducing emissions where practicable, and continually enhancing our environmental performance in compliance with applicable environmental legislation.

Social

We are committed to respecting and promoting human rights, protecting the health, safety and well-being of our employees, fostering diversity, equity and inclusion, investing in professional development, supporting the communities in which we operate, and building trusted relationships with our clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Governance

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance through ethical leadership, transparency, accountability, regulatory compliance, effective risk management, responsible business conduct, robust internal controls, and a culture of integrity that supports long-term organizational success.

  • ASSL's ESG framework builds upon the principles of ISO 26000 – Guidance on Social Responsibility, which has long informed our approach to responsible business conduct. ISO 26000 recognizes an organization's responsibility for the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment through transparent and ethical behaviour, encompassing organizational governance, human rights, labour practices, the environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues, and community involvement and development.

Today, ESG provides a globally recognized framework for integrating these principles into business strategy, risk management, and performance measurement. By embedding environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and strong governance throughout our organization, ASSL enhances business resilience, supports sustainable growth, creates long-term value for stakeholders, and contributes to a safer, more sustainable future.

Reporting Standard

ASSL aligns its Social pillar disclosures with the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which are themselves derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, and the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.
