We are inspired and guided by our values: Duty, Respect, Innovation, Professionalism, Courage, and Vigilance.
At Amalgamated Security Services Limited, we are inspired and guided by our values: Duty, Respect, Innovation, Professionalism, Courage, and Vigilance. We conduct business ethically, honestly, and in full compliance with the law. We embrace ethics and transparency, from the way we treat our employees to our emphasis on human rights and equity to our partnerships with suppliers.
While human rights and ESG performance are the responsibility of all employees at ASSL, executive oversight and responsibility for the implementation of related policy rests with our Members of the Executive, led by the Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer/designate. Executives meet at least once per year to review and evaluate company programs, policies, and practices relating to social and environmental issues and impacts, supporting the sustainable growth of the company’s business.
The Company expects that employees avoid at all times any situation which may involve a conflict of interest between the employee and the company. Employees are expressly prohibited from offering, accepting, or soliciting a bribe, or a gift in the form of money or in-kind including entertainment and paid employment in other companies, in return to influence a business decision. Executive Management’s written consent should be sought, in exceptional circumstances or even for legitimate reasons, in the case of a gift or entertainment, the value of which should be nominal.
Â
ASSL’s tool for fighting corruption is its Code of Professional Conduct, which governs the acts and working relations of ASSL’s employees, executives, and Board of Directors. This code prohibits all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery, and demands the highest standards of honor and ethical conduct, including procedures for dealing with conflicts of interest and requiring compliance with applicable laws, standards, and regulations.
Â
Amalgamated Security Services Limited commits to conducting its business lawfully, ethically, and with integrity, as embodied in our Code of Business Ethics and Code of Conduct policy [ADM-P002]. The company, its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, and employees shall not engage in any activity, practice, or conduct which would constitute an offence under sections 3, 4, or 5 of the Prevention of Corruption Act [Chap. 11:11, Act 11 of 1987, Laws of Trinidad and Tobago].
Â
For the purpose of this policy, corruption is defined as the misuse of public power for private profit, or the misuse of entrusted power for private gain. Bribery is defined as the offer, promise, or payment of cash, gifts, or excessive entertainment, or an inducement of any kind offered or given to a person in a position of trust to influence that person’s views or conduct, or to obtain an improper advantage.
Â
Compliance with this policy is the responsibility of every ASSL stakeholder. ASSL participates in anti-bribery and corruption training provided by TRACE, or a comparable organization, and makes training available to all principals and key employees in sales, marketing, and procurement via the Company’s Employee Orientation Sessions.
