Team HOPE welcomes Gold Sponsor, Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL)

2014-04-28 11:06:01

am HOPE (How Ordinary People do Extraordinary things) is pleased to welcome on board, Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) as its Gold Sponsor for entry into Neal and Massy’s Rainbow Cup Triathlon in June 2014.

Team HOPE is an innovative community based programme that promotes health and wellness for persons of ALL abilities. Fifty-two ordinary people (Hopees) have been training for the Rainbow Cup Triathlon over the past few months, learning about occupational therapy, visiting outpatient clinics and fundraising in their bid to help the Trinidad and Tobago Occupational Therapy Association (TTOTA).

ASSL’s Group Marketing Manager, Robert Baur says, “While we have been involved in various sponsorship ventures in the past, this is quite different and when we heard of the efforts of TTOTA and Team HOPE, we simply wanted to support in any way possible.”

Mr. Baur continues, “At Amalgamated Security Services we are strong advocators of health and fitness ourselves, within the company and outside of it. Over the past few years Team HOPE has successfully raised awareness and funds for many worthy causes. This year’s support of TTOTA ultimately aims at the improvement of life circumstances for disabled persons which is an endeavor that ASSL wholeheartedly backs up.”

TTOTA believes that every person, regardless of ability, should be able to participate in the things they need, want and are expected to do. “It is a basic right that many of us take for granted. A right that many persons with disabilities don’t always have, due to limited resources, limited public therapy services and limited access to public buildings,” states Team HOPE Coordinator, Priya Gomes.

Team HOPE would also like to welcome Bronze sponsors, Atlantic and Post Great Grains and acknowledge Ask Leadership Foundation for their donation to this cause.

TTOTA and Team HOPE is asking the public for support in raising awareness for this much needed profession in the public system so that persons with various disabilities can have access to occupational therapy.
