Amalgamated Security Services (Barbados) Limited (ASSL) continued its commitment to employee health and well-being by hosting a Health and Wellness Fair for security officers in August 2026, in collaboration with Sandy Crest and Coverley Medical Centres.
The initiative provided ASSL security officers with convenient access to important health screenings, professional guidance and information aimed at encouraging healthier lifestyles and greater awareness of personal health.
Supporting the Health and Well-Being of Our Security Officers
Security professionals play an essential role in protecting people, property and communities. At ASSL, we recognize that supporting our officers also means investing in their physical health, wellness and quality of life.
During the Health Fair, security officers were offered a range of complimentary health screenings, including:
- Blood pressure testing
- Blood sugar testing
- Cholesterol testing
- Health and wellness guidance
- Nutrition and healthy lifestyle advice
These screenings provided employees with an opportunity to become more aware of important health indicators and encouraged them to take a proactive approach to their overall well-being.
Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyle Guidance
In addition to the health screenings, a nutritionist was available on location throughout the day to provide employees with practical guidance on nutrition, healthy eating and lifestyle choices.
The combination of health screening and nutritional guidance helped reinforce the importance of prevention, awareness and making informed decisions about personal wellness.
Building a Culture of Health and Wellness at ASSL
The Health Fair reflects ASSL’s broader commitment to fostering a workplace culture that places importance on employee health, safety and well-being.
By collaborating with healthcare providers such as Sandy Crest and Coverley Medical Centres, ASSL is able to bring valuable health resources directly to its employees and make preventive health services more accessible to members of its security team.
Initiatives such as these complement ASSL’s commitment to maintaining a professional, resilient and healthy workforce capable of continuing to deliver high-quality security services to clients and communities.
Investing in the People Who Protect Others
At ASSL, our people are central to the services we provide. Supporting their health and professional well-being is an important part of building a stronger organization.
ASSL extends its appreciation to Sandy Crest and Coverley Medical Centres, the healthcare professionals and nutritionist who supported the initiative, as well as all security officers who participated in the Health Fair.
Through continued employee wellness initiatives, training and professional development, ASSL remains committed to investing in the people who protect and serve our communities every day.
