AMALGAMATED SECURITY SERVICES LIMITED HOSTS ITS 27TH ANNUAL AWARDS FUNCTION, TIME & EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE FOR THE EAST REGION

Amalgamated Security Services Limited hosted its 27th Annual Awards Function, Time & Excellence Service on June 15th, 2019 at its Chaguanas Office, Montrose recognizing employee’s years of service. Long service award recipients ranged as follows:

  • 10 Year Long Service -51
  • 15 Year Long Service -22
  • 20 Year Long Service -25
  • 25 Year Long Service -2
  • 30 Year Long Service -1

Amongst the long service awardees, fifteen (15) individuals were also recognized for their hard work and dedication to the company in the categories of merit and special awards.


AMALGAMATED SECURITY SERVICES LIMITED REGIONAL RECOGNITION AWARDS PROGRAMME FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT 2019

Each year, the Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) Regional Recognition Awards Programme for Public Law Enforcement, in collaboration with the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP), acknowledges and awards Top Law Enforcement Officers across the Caribbean region. The programme recognizes a total of nine outstanding Police Officers from member countries of the ACCP, with three Awardees per each of the three categories: Top Caribbean Community Policing Officer | Top Caribbean Crime Fighter | Top Caribbean Career Move.

In 2019 the fifth annual Amalgamated Security Services Regional Recognition Award Programme for Public Law Enforcement ceremony was held in the Cayman Islands. The 2019 Awardees are:

Top Caribbean Crime Fighter:

  1. Detective Constable Shonel Cummings, Grenda (1st Place Winner)

AMALGAMATED SECURITY ACQUIRES MASSY SECURITY (GUYANA) INC

On the 7th of March 2019 Amalgamated Security acquired 100% of the shareholding of Massy Security (Guyana) Inc, which operates in the Cash Services, Guarding and Alarm Monitoring fields and has 4 offices in Guyana. Dr. (h.c.) Michael Aboud, Chairman of Amalgamated Security Services Ltd. (ASSL), commented: “When we were made the offer to purchase Massy Security (Guyana), we knew it was the right move to make for us. We had operations in Guyana already and this acquisition will support our strategic objective to be the premier provider of security in any country we operate in. We are delighted that we will be able to keep all employees on board. After merging the two companies, more than 800 highly trained professionals will serve the market in Guyana with an unrivaled level of quality. We are looking forward to exceeding the expectations of all our customers.”

    AMALGAMATED SECURITY SERVICES LIMITED ACHIEVES TRIPLE WORLD CLASS CERTIFICATION

    Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL) a premier provider of Security and Risk Management Services within the Caribbean region achieves triple world class certifications; ISO 9001, ISO 18788 ad PSC-1. The company successfully completed Stage 1 and 2 audit conducted by MSS Global and achieved certification on 26th February, 2019 for a three (3) year period.

    Over the past year, ASSL management lead by Chief Executive Officer, Pamela Hosein, integrated the principles promoted by ISO 9001:2015, ISO 18788:2015 and ANSI/ASIS PSC-1:2012 within the company’s operations.     ISO 18788:2015 provides a framework for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving the management of security operations. It provides the principles and requirements for a security operations management system (SOMS). ISO 18788:2015 provides a business and risk management framework for organizations conducting or contracting security operations and related activities and functions while demonstrating:

    2. accountability to law and respect for human rights;
    3. consistency with voluntary commitments to which it subscribes.

    ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012. is a management standard for quality of private security company operations.The standard seeks to operationalise the International Code of Conduct (ICoC) within a formal structure familiar to businesses. That structure, with national and international supervision, provides auditable procedures for the development of the standard, certification to it, and monitoring of ongoing compliance.[2] It incorporates elements of the Montreux Document.

    With over 30 years of professional experience in senior management leadership positions in the private security industry, Pamela has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, Pamela has demonstrated success not only with ASSL but with every position she has ever held. She is highly skilled and qualified in strategic management and has championed quality and safety initiatives throughout her career. She is an accomplished leader in policy and strategy development with sound knowledge and extensive practice in corporate governance. She had developed complete management systems for Quality, Safety, Security, Procurement and Management and lead in development of policies and procedures for over 15 years. Her areas of expertise include, Financial Analysis, Operations Oversight, Risk Management and Stakeholder Analysis. Pamela received her Master of Business Administration for Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Angila Ruskin University, UK and received her Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from ASIS International. She is a Certified Disaster recovery Engineer and has formal training as a Quality Manager and ISO Lead Auditor (RABQSA).

    Throughout her illustrious career Pamela has received awards, accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. For 2018 selected as Empowered Woman of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). For 2017 she was selected as Top Female Executive Director by IAOTP and Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Worldwide Association of Female Professionals. She currently serves the 3rd term as Chairman of ASIS International, Chapter 157, Trinidad and Tobago. She has also served as Director with the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Companies (ICoCA) Switzerland, where she extended her service to the Working Group on Policy Development. She is associated with volunteer community groups in Trinidad & Tobago and is founder of the Kids in School Support Program under ASIS Chairmanship.

    The Implementation Agency for Crime and Security together with the assistance of the Montreux Document Forum held a workshop seeking to enhance regulation, oversight and Governance of the Private Security Industry within the Caribbean Region at Customs House, Port of Spain from 4th – 5th February, 2019.
