Our Investigative Expertise

Our investigators and associates have extensive investigative experience; many have worked in the Police Service, operating in departments such as the Criminal Investigations Department, the Fraud Squad, Special Anti-crime Unit, the Anti Kidnapping Squad and the Special Branch. In addition, our investigators have worked alongside and received training form U.S. Department of Justice, The Mossad, the British Special Air Services, the US Customs Service, and the US Federal Bureau of Investigations. Below are short Bio-Sketches on some of our investigators and associates.

Maurice Aboud Ph.D.

Maurice Aboud holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with an emphasis on Forensic Science from Florida International University He also has a Master of Science degree in Forensic Science from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven. Dr. Maurice Aboud is also a trained Executive Protection Agent and a Certified Protection Specialist. He has done training in Advanced Crime Scene at the Westchester County Forensic Science Laboratory.

Dave Pilgrim

Mr. Dave Pilgrim served for 31 years in the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service. A significant part of his police career was in the Special Branch where he handled confidential Enquires and Security Vettings, Background Checking, Surveillance and VIP Protection. Among the specialized training received by Mr. Pilgrim has included:

  • Functional Intelligence Management - Mosad (Israeli Intelligence Unit)
  • Surveillance Detection - American Embassy
  • Protective Operations Course - United States Government, Special Training Group
  • VIP Protection Course - British Special Air Service (SAS)

Ancil Corbett

Mr. Corbett retired from the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service at the rank of Inspector after 33 years of service. Mr. Corbett functioned in various departments of the Police Service which included Criminal Investigations Department, Criminal Records Office, Homicide Bureau of Investigations and Major Crime Scene Investigations. His training has included:

  • The science of fingerprint
  • Advanced Latent Fingerprint (United States Department of Justice)
  • Forensic Approach to Criminal Investigation
  • Crime Scene Specialist (United States Department of Justice)

David West

Mr. West graduated from the Hugh Wooding Law School in 1996 after which he worked in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions until 1999 when he left to work in the Ministry of the Attorney General, Central Authority Unit. He was a member of the cabinet appointed committee on Anti Money Laundering and together with the other members were responsible for drafting the Financial Intelligence Act 2009, Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Act 2009, the Anti Terrorism Act, 2010 and the financial Obligations Regulations, 2009. Mr. West has the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation. This designation is recognized worldwide by financial institutions and government agencies as an indication of AML expertise.

Hector Hugh Martin

Methodological and detailed is the work of Mr. Hector Martin. A professionally trained Civil Engineer whose main areas of concentration are in the fields of structural engineering, construction project management and contract procurement. Having obtained his BSc. with honors in Civil Engineering in 2003 and MSc. with distinction in Engineering and Construction Management in 2006 from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad; Mr. Martin returned to his Alma Marta Lectures in the Master of Science programme in Construction Management with the Faculty of Engineering. He also lectures at the Universities in Barbados and Guyana. Mr. Martin is a registered Engineer (REng) with the board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (MAPETT). He is a certified project manager (PMP) with the Project Management Institute of America, and the holder of various certificates in fields of project scheduling, project management essentials, plumbing and accounts & taxation.

Devanand Hingoo

Mr. Hingoo has been involved in the practice of Management Consulting, Engineering Consulting, Project and Resource Development, Project Management and Construction Management for more than twenty years. He has been responsible for development project teams (technical and non-technical), development and management of multi-discipline engineering designs, contract documents, technical specifications, tender analysis and evaluation, cost reporting, including contract negotiations, and development of agreements. He has also been responsible for corporate administration, and overall organization resource management. Mr. Hingoo has undertaken assignments in Canada, United States, India, Peru, China, Caribbean islands including the Bahamas, Aruba, and Trinidad and Tobago, and has managed project teams involving several major participants, engineering consultants, contractors and other service providers from Europe, Japan, Canada, United States and South America. Mr. Hingoo has a B. Eng., Electrical Engineering Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada and a B. Tech., Engineering systems Design and Implementations from George Brown College of Applied Arts & Technology, Toronto, Canada.

TK Austin

Mr. Austin has 36 years experience in the construction industry and has worked in various countries including the United Kingdom, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, St Lucia, Grenada, Guyana Iran, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. While Mr. Austin has a broad range of experience in the construction industry, his particular specialty is Quantity Surveying and the reviewing of contractual claims.

Vernon Wilkinson

Mr. Vernon Wilkinson had a distinguished career in the Royal Barbados Police Force reaching the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police before joining Amalgamated Security Services.

Raphael Best

Mr. Raphael Best spent 26 years experience in the Royal Barbados Police and worked in the Criminal Investigations Department and the Special Branch.

Denpha Willoughby

Ms. Denpha Willoughby is a former member of the Royal Barbados Police Force having served for 21 years. While in the Police Force Ms. Willoughby received training in Criminal Investigation and Fingerprinting & Photography at I.C.I.T.A.P. - U.S.A. She underwent a Criminal Law Programmne at the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill).

Vincent Francis

Mr. Vincent Francis had a 27 year career in the royal St Lucia Police Force retiring at the rank of inspector.
